A very unusual May Bell "Jumbo", No. 74 -- found this guitar's description in the newest release of " The Slingerland Book " by Rob Cook. ( www.rebeats.com )
Before 1/28/04 this was (to me and the person I purchased it from) an unknown model... in the book are pictures of a 1920's Slingerland catalog that show this guitar. Birch back and sides, spruce top, maple neck, stained maple fingerboard. The top and back are arched, with a round soundhole. This guitar is outrageously deep: 5 3/4" lower bout, and a 4 3/4" upper bout. Very strange to play due to the depth! 14 frets to the body.
