A very unusual shaped May Bell -- believed to be a Style No. 82 archtop guitar with an non-scalloped pickguard. Carved spruce top. Lower bout is 15½", upper bout is 11", with a 11" waist.
A view of the back, and underneath the black finish it has mahogany back, sides and neck. The sound is very bright, better than that of the Model 84, but then, this was a more expensive guitar. The sound is also rather unique, due to the strange body shape.
The head of the May Bell No. 82, showing the same shape as the Slingerland guitars. This guitar has a 1 3/4" nut, and is a 25" scale. It is also a 20 fret guitar.
